2020 AAJS Update…

The 2020 All American Fall Show possibility has also been cancelled and there will be no All American this calendar year. The committee has been on a roller coaster ride for the past three months with the final dip coming this week when we found out the secondary show site is so near South Bend that all hotels rooms are booked and the cost of those rooms are very high even if they exist, because Notre Dame has a home football game. I know many of you think the football games won’t be happening but we can no longer plan a show of this magnitude on “what ifs”.

The main draw and attraction to the All American is the family/friends experience and all of the extra activities that goes on outside of the actual show ring. With that being said we were still hopeful to provide a nice experience for our juniors and families with social distancing guidelines in place and were working towards that goal but when you find out there is no place for people to stay it was just the last hurdle we couldn’t jump.

I would like to personally thank all of the Michigan Show Planning Committee. We know you have put in overs a year’s worth of time and efforts in planning and fundraising for this show. We certainly appreciate all you have done and we will be back in a few years! The AAJS still loves Michigan!!

The AAJS Show committee will now set its sights on the 2021 All American in Illinois. It is going to be a big one and we will make sure it will be a great experience for all of our sheep showing families. The AAJS general fund already has a great jump on fundraising thanks to all of your support for the recent online ram semen benefit sale. I think we are going to need all we can raise based on the expectations for next year’s very large show!

With that being said, we are still going to be accepting Scholarship Applications for awarding this year to our older exhibitors. We are also going to be doing a couple of the promotional contests, specifically the t-shirt contest as we need to get next’s years design and we will also be doing the photo contest for all age divisions and adults. The specifics on these activities will be announced soon!

We will miss you all this summer but know we are all in this together. We will get through this and we will be better for it when we come out on the other side.
